We were featured on the programme with an innovative design encompasing a low budget approach, a building within planning height and site constraints and simple construction.
THE MIAM BEACH HOUSE PROJECT
The Channel 4 TV programme, Grand Designs featured Squirrel Design, our client and construction professionals building this innovative dwelling – afforded the affectionate nickname, ‘The Miami Beach House’.
A planning restriction on the height of the building virtually dictated a flat roof. A tight budget raised the comment ‘perhaps we can only afford a box‘ the reply was ‘that is true – but we will make it a very interesting box’. The rest is history.
So, a few sketched boxes beccame this truly striking building that encomapasses so many aspects of architectural creativity, innovation and free thinking.
